These are the typical steps taken to build a house.*

Step 1
After deciding you're going to build you'll need to get an Architect, who will create your dream house on paper and then turn it into a reality.

Step 2
Submit your plans to the local planning office and get planning permission.*

Step 3
The Architect will submit a set of drawings to Sips Industries who can the specify the building and give you a cost using SIPS.

Step 4
Together Sips Industries and the new client agree to go ahead with the project based on the specification and quotation.

Step 5
Sips Industries will then work with your engineer to ensure that the building meets the required specifications.

Step 6
You submit your plans and engineering details to the local councils building control for a build warrant*

Step 7
A factory "slot" is booked in the schedule and a preliminary date for the "kit" to be manufactured is set, with a build date closely followed.

Step 8
Your builder then prepares the foundations using the architects drawings, ready for your new house.

Step 9
The "kit" is cut, checked and shipped to site with a building crew from Sips Industries.

Step 10
The kit is then erected ready for windows and doors.

Step 11
The building is then wrapped in building paper (or as specified by the engineer or architect).

Step 12
The building external brick or blockwork is then completed and the internal trades can start work.

Step 13
All the trades are finished and completion or habitation certificate issued by your local council*

Step 14
Now you can move in and enjoy your beautiful warm house.

* These steps may vary depending on your local council, the complexity, location and type of building.
